The receptionist clocks out at six. The phone doesn't.

Lineworks is the phone system for a 10 to 200 person company: real local and toll free numbers, call routing that follows your actual org chart, voicemail you can read instead of hearing, and an AI receptionist that picks up after hours. Set up in an afternoon, no closet full of hardware.

Trusted by dispatch desks, dental offices, law firms and warehouse floors running 10 to 200 extensions.

6:42 PM on a Tuesday. Cobalt Peak Logistics is closed. The phone still works.

Cobalt Peak Logistics runs 40 extensions on Lineworks. Scroll to follow one call start to finish: the hours check, the menu, a ring group, and the AI receptionist who ends up taking the message.

Keep your number. Change everything else.

Switching carriers is a regulated process with a predictable timeline. Here is exactly what happens.

  1. 1

    Send your latest bill

Upload a copy of your current carrier bill. We generate the Letter of Authorization from it, you sign it electronically, usually inside a day.

  2. 2

    We file the port request

Lineworks submits the request to your losing carrier under FCC local number portability rules. Standard ports clear in 3 to 7 business days.

  3. 3

    Both systems ring at once

During the transfer window your number rings on your old phones and on Lineworks. Nobody calling you notices anything.

  4. 4

    Cutover, old carrier goes dark

The port completes on a scheduled cutover, almost always a Tuesday or Thursday morning. Your old line cancels. Lineworks carries every call after that.

The features a 40 line office actually uses.

Hunt groups

Ring patterns set per line: simultaneous, round robin, or longest idle. Dispatch lines usually run simultaneous, sales lines run round robin.

Call recording

On by default or per extension. Retention runs from 90 days to 7 years. Two party consent announcements play automatically in states that require them.

Hold music

Upload your own track or pick from a royalty free library. Interrupted every 45 seconds with a queue position announcement, not dead air.

Voicemail transcription

Delivered to email or your team chat about 20 seconds after the message ends. Accuracy holds up on accents and background noise most providers miss.

E911

Dynamic location tied to each registered device. Move a desk phone to a new floor, the emergency address updates the same day.

10DLC registered texting

Your main line sends and receives SMS under the carriers' A2P 10DLC program, so appointment reminders and dispatch texts don't land in a spam filter.

Business hours and holidays

Set the schedule once. Lineworks handles Thanksgiving, the day after, and your office's odd half day before a long weekend without a reminder.

Call queues

Callers hear their place in line and an estimated wait, calculated from the last 50 calls to that queue, not a fixed guess.

42 seconds. That's the median hold time to reach a human.

0%

Uptime over the trailing 12 months

0

Status history for the last 90 days is public. Support is staffed 6 AM to 9 PM local time, with the AI receptionist covering every hour outside that.

Tell us your number. We'll handle the rest.

Fill in the form when you're ready and a Lineworks porting specialist calls within one business day to confirm details and schedule the cutover. Your lines keep ringing on your current system until the new one is live.

No lines go down during the switch. This form does not send real data, it is a sample.
